British & Irish Lions Tour May-July 2009

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you guys at South African Travel Corporation (SATC) for your dedication and hard work.

To date Atlas Group Travel have contracted SATC for our last three tours to South Africa, the first being the Welsh Rugby tour in June 2008, for which we got great feedback from our client’s regarding SATC’s service during their stay.

This was followed by a College Group in October whose tour not only needed to be well co-ordinated, but we also needed a company with local knowledge and a 24/7 on the ground service. SATC’s understanding of both group’s requirements was first class.

The hard work put in by SATC for our last SA project can not be underestimated, which in itself went a long way in making our British and Irish Lions Rugby Tour programme a huge success with our many clients who travelled with us from all over the UK and Ireland. The dedication, local knowledge and eye for detail by SATC were crucial when you consider our clients that travelled with us were part of an estimated 25,000 Lions Supporters who descended on South Africa in a 3 week period.

We are now in the middle of our latest, and fourth project with SATC; England’s 2009-2010 International Cricket Tour to South Africa, and look forward to using SATC’s services on other projects we are currently planning.

Hi Sue, great to hear from you! Yes, got home safe and sound, totally exhausted and only just about recovered,27 days of party time took its toll! Great though and we loved every minute.

South Africa 2009, Atlas Tours of Bridgend (South Wales ,UK) provided me with a total package for this prestigious event, For our link in South Africa we were entrusted to Sue Towse and her excellent company The South African Travel Corporation.

Atlas Tours chose Sue for her vast knowledge and expertise in handling such tours, as an individual I was most impressed with the efficiency, professionalism and attention to detail Sue and her company provided. Every pick up was on time, standard of transport (together with the excellent drivers for whom nothing was too much trouble) I think was 1st class.

Sue’s in depth of knowledge was more than evident on this long tour. From the profile of Cape Town to the wonderful places we visited along the way to Durban, the level of information that was provided was just about right and I for one learned a great deal about the real Africa and its people.

To sum things up, The South African Travel Corporation made the difference, thanks Sue for a wonderful, memorable trip that I will remember forever.

On behalf of the Hummers and ourselves, we want to thank you for facilitating our fulfillment of a life-long dream, the Rovos Rail excursion from Pretoria to Cape Town, as well as the wonderful tour of the Cape / Winelands / Stellenbosch. We particularly enjoyed your personal attention to our interests and schedule, one of the highlights of which was your choice of the winery tour at Altydgedacht. What a beautiful setting and ambience! The fireside redolent of Fall was charming and the tasting itself most interesting. We hope to see you again at the FIGO convention in Cape Town next year.

Everything went like clockwork and we had a wonderful time - We came home today with peeling noses ( and diamonds!) Willy was an excellent guide and was very sensitive to our moods and wishes, and was also full of funny and useful anecdotes. I would highly recommend him. I am writing to thank Prof Rhodes and will make a donation to the red cross hospital. It was an interesting and thought provoking day. I just got off the phone to Andrea and Quentin - they had a really great time! They were really impressed by how on time the drivers were & everything was well organised and thought the lodge accommodation was really great too & people very nice.

Thanks Sue, my trip was wonderful and everything worked out fine.

I did the Bungy Jump, survived it, enjoyed a long walk in Tsitsikamma national park, and I especially liked the Backpacker's Lodges, they were really homey and nice. When I was backpacking through Europe, I never saw such beautiful Hostels, so I was very surprised.

The crew were fantastic. The drivers in particular were exceptional, always prompt and very good at their jobs.

For your own future reference I needed a smaller minibus with driver for some of my clients who remained in JHB for a few more days. They supplied one at a moments notice and came in about 70% cheaper than the Rental companies.

So a good all round rating for quality of service and value for money.
